My church is doing a great series called Letters to the Next President.

One of the questions we were asked yesterday was:

If you could write a letter to the next, what would you say? It’s a great question. So here’s mine. It’s real short.

Dear Barack Obama and John McCain,

What are you going to do to stay out of my life? I don’t expect you to make my life better or fix everything in it. I do not see that as the role of government. That simply lends itself to larger and larger government, which slowly tramples the freedoms of society.

I expect you, through policy and leadership, to stay out of my life, keep me safe, and empower me by letting me be independent and free thereby letting me make my own life better.

A Concerned Citizen,
