Okay, today may not be a day for those who are consumed by political correctness. I’m going to have a little fun with the current events of the day. It’s the only way for me to cope with reality.

First, today is the inauguration. But a friend of mine described it as the immaculation. He was poking a little fun at the media and entertainment industries love affair with Barack Obama and their messianic devotion to him. It may make you mad, but there is a little humor and truth to it. Believe me, I have had no love affair with the decisions Bush has made over the last couple of years (especially the last 6 months). So I think we can all laugh at them all a little to cope with the state of things. I thought that was hysterical.

Second, if you really want to commemorate this moment you can order some of these coins. But it got me thinking. With all the trillions of dollars in promised spending and debt, you might just get an IOU or credit card instead. HA!

I just wonder if we realize that this has to be paid back. For example, if you take a mortgage on your house out for $200,000, by the time you pay it back you’ve paid back well over $400,000.

So that means if we borrow 1 trillion (or more), we, our kids, and grandkids will have to pay back 2 1/2 times more than we’ve borrowed. Awesome!!!
