So the RNC got underway last night. And, of course, since I am addicted to current events, I didn’t miss a minute (like with the DNC). So far I have one word to describe it:

BORING!

I’m watching it, thinking, if you have a vision and passion for something, you better represent it in your actions. That’s a major idea I build on in my book when it comes to Christianity.

Here is a party with such greats as Abraham Lincoln, Teddie Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan.

And they’ve done such great things as the Emancipation Proclamation, sign-in the Civil Rights Act and the 14th Amendment, led the effort to give blacks the right to vote, led the charge to give woman the right to vote, had the first women delegates at a national convention, led the way for the integration of pro-sports…

But you would never know it from watching last night.

It seemed like the B-Team was up there. The music was boring. The transitions were clumsy. And where are the young people?

No passion in their vision so far.

But the benediction prayer was good. It wasn’t laced with agenda like Donald Miller’s was at the DNC.
