This weekend marks the anniversary of D-Day. It was June 6, 1944 when nearly 400,000 troops landed on the beaches at Normandy to face German forces.

The next morning the President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, said a prayer that was broadcast nationally on CBS radio. I have attached the file here for you to hear. It’s amazing. And can you imagine a president saying some of these things today? It would be unheard of, separation of church and state and all.
