*Disclaimer: I am not particularly excited about either candidate running for office so please don’t get bent out of shape when I talk about current events

This week has been full of energy. It’s been heated. We’ve talked prayer. We’ve mildly talked politics. It can’t be ignored. Politics is in the air.

Do you hate politics like me?

It’s annoying but unavoidable. I can’t stop reading and watching. I don’t want to. I just feel like I have to. There’s something about being a citizen in this country that seems to drive me to be responsible and invest in the outcomes of each election.

Will I hold my nose and vote? Will I change? Will I not vote for the first time in my life?

So let’s release some tension. For fun I am going to do my best to summarize each speaker at the DNC (at least the ones worth mentioning) in a one word description. It wasn’t easy, so I invite your revisions. And maybe you can laugh with me as I do. Here we go:

Pelosi: Calculating
Carter: What?
Kennedy: Humbug
Michelle: Strong-willed
Kerry: Jealous
Hillary: Frustrated
Bill: Charming
Kucinich: Wackadoodledoo
Biden: Contradictory
Obama: Rhetoric

So on to next week with another high-octane dose of current events in the air.

As C3PO once said, “Thank the Maker!.” It’ll all be over soon…
