Pomp, Circumstance, Pompeii
**READ THE UPDATE BELOW**
What is this? Is it:
1. A picture of a tourist spot at Washington D.C.
2. A modern recreation of the ancient city of Pompeii for a rock concert
3. Where Barack Obama will give his acceptance speech for the DNC
If you guessed 3 you are right.
I think this is one reason why I don't like politicians, no matter the party. It's just too much pretense and self-importance for me.
Admittedly, you have to have a certain level of self-importance and confidence to even aspire for the office of president. But I just can't take this level of it. And the apparent god-like parallels are a little strange too.
*I have recently learned that this set was done by a guy/company that has done sets for Britney Spears. If you've been keeping up with the political ads then you can appreciate the irony.

Not in politics!
I pretty much agree with you. I am sick and tired of holding my nose in the voting booth when I mash the button.
Where are the authentic and real leaders?
not to be out done, John McCain is giving his speech from the moon. This election has such weak candidates on both sides it makes me nervous. I am conservative, just to clear things up. I don’t usually agree with people like Bill Clinton, but he summed it up best on Tuesday when he said this: “Suppose you’re a voter, and you’ve got candidate X and candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don’t think that candidate can deliver on anything at all. Candidate Y you agree with on about half the issues, but he can deliver. Which candidate are you going to vote for?”
I love this, the Democrats are eating themselves.
